“Two’s Company, Three’s a Crowd – but Quads make this Rig Perrrrfect”
Well known & respected Darwin Tour & Commercial Marine operator Jim Smith recently re-powered his Cruise Vessel “Flat Back” with a few F300’s from Yamaha Outboards Australia.
“Flat Back” was always designed for Quad F300’s but at the time Jim decided that triple’s would suffice. With the great success of Sea Darwin Tours Jim finds himself with fuller loads more frequently so the extra HP works very well in reducing the overall RPM required which has returned a fantastic fuel saving.
Sea Darwin’s first experience with Yamaha & IOM dates back to 2011 when IOM re-powered Jim’s original Tour boat with a Pair of F300’s. Jim was having major problems with his previous brand and since the Yamaha re-power clocked up over 5000 hours without any issues.
Jim more recently has purchased a smaller second vessel to support his growing business and selected the New Yamaha F425 XTO’s to power up with.
Speaking with Jim recently, he attributed a lot of his business success to making the change to Yamaha & IOM. Prior to changing to Yamaha, the cost of unexpected repairs and down time was crippling his business preventing further growth.
